Dental Crowns In Lawrenceville, GA

Also serving Duluth, Norcross, Suwanee & Arbor Trace

Right here at Optima Dental, we can place top-quality dental crowns which will bring back the function of your teeth and protect them from further damage. Even with proper dental hygiene, normal wear and tear on your teeth can cause them to weaken over time. They can become more vulnerable to damage such as discoloration, cracks, and tooth decay. Dental crowns are a safe way to restore your smile and provide a natural look that functions to its full potential.

Why Do I Need a Crown?

There are different reasons a patient may need a dental crown, including:

To Protect a Weak Tooth From Breaking or Cracking

✔ To Restore an Already Broken or Worn Down Tooth

To Cover and Support a Tooth That Is Almost Gone

To Hold a Dental Bridge in Place

 To Cover a Dental Implant

 To Make a Cosmetic Modification

To Cover Discolored or Distorted Teeth

What Is a Crown?

A dental crown is a tooth cap used to cover a damaged tooth that generally cannot be restored. It can be made from several materials, such as gold or porcelain fused to metal.

Here at our Lawrenceville office, we recommend you receive the porcelain dental crown because it provides a more natural look. We will carefully mold its shape and match its color with the rest of your teeth so it blends in perfectly with your smile.

How It’s Done

The process starts with your first visit with Dr. Houenou where he will assess the state of your teeth and determine if a crown is necessary. If you qualify, Dr. Houeneu will shape your tooth so it can hold the crown securely. Once the tooth is formed to the right shape, he will make an impression of it. We offer a local anesthetic to make you more comfortable if needed through this examination. You will end this first visit with a temporary crown on the affected tooth so it is preserved and protected.

Meanwhile, our Lawrenceville team will send the dental impression to our laboratory where the crown will be made. We’ll use the impression to make sure that the crown fits perfectly on your tooth. This process takes about 2 to 3 weeks.

When the crown is completed, you can come for your second and final visit where we will put dental cement on the tooth and carefully install the crown in its proper place. Once that’s done, you can leave our clinic with a new, natural-looking smile.

Any imperfection such as fractures or serious discoloration will be covered up. The crown will seal any serious cavities that regular fillings can’t fix, and in addition, it will prevent any further damage.

Aftercare for Your Crown

After receiving your dental crowns, proper at-home oral care is very important for your new replacement. Brushing twice a day and daily flossing to remove any plaque and bacteria is vital, as well as seeing your dentist for regular exams and teeth cleanings twice a year.

At Optima Dental, we want to provide you with the best solution to help restore your damaged smile. Call us today to discover how our dental crowns can change your life.
