Dr. Helios Houenou
Fluent in 6 languages, Dr. Houenou grew up in the French speaking country of Benin. In 1998, he received his dental degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in Michigan and completed a surgery based General Practice Residency at the St Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio.
Following the formal dental training, Dr. Houenou completed an approved one year the implant maxi course program in 2008 through the Medical College of Georgia and has since been able to offer all phases of implant dentistry ranging from surgical implant placement to implant restorations.
In 2013 Dr. Houenou achieved Mastership status with the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI). He was awarded an Honorary Fellowship in June 2015 by the International Academy of Dental Implantology (IADI) on the merits of his clinical achievements in implant dentistry. In July 2015, Dr. Houenou became an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) making him a credentialed member of the organization.
Dr. Houenou’s professional interests include implant dentistry, sedation dentistry, oral surgery, removable prosthetics (dentures/partials) and endodontics. He maintains a professional collaboration with colleagues internationally and hold an active license to practice dentistry in the states of Georgia, Virginia and California. His personal interests include travel, motorcycle, salsa dancing, cycling, soccer, tennis and cooking.
